Built at Superior Coach builders in 1981, Hearshal was sold to a funeral home in New Jersey which eventually went under. An Ottawa funeral home purchased it and had it in service until 1994. In that time it was involved in 2 accidents - one resulting in the front end being replaced with parts from a '92 Caddy.
Donated to "Crime Stoppers" of Toronto, it was painted white and left
on a back lot of a police vehicle impound. I picked him up in the fall
of 1999 and I'm slowly customizing him. |
|
This is how I found Hearshal on the police lot,
what a mess. I only had a week to get him back
in black and on the front lawn, not an easy task.

This

The license plate frame says, "PUTTING THE FUN BACK IN FUNERAL"

The
BAT TRUCK
My everyday ride come winter.
Not much to say here. It's a great truck. The vampyre bat motif was
the work of Steve at "Danforth Signs" (416-674-5775) and is created
from black vinyl.
Combined with the license plate, it turns some heads.

The plate says it all!

This nice 3/4 shot of Hearshal was taken by Chris, a very cool member of "Darkside Drivers" hearse club, at the 2002 "Pumpkinville" fair held in North Ajax every year.

Bill, a really good friend, found "Foghorn" in a garage sale. I can't
really remember how he found his way into the back of my car, but he's
sort of become a fixture now. I've had people ask me, while in traffic,
if all our club members have the chicken in the back as they've seen
my car, seemingly, everywhere.
HE'S A ROOSTER, PEOPLE!
For those of you who remember the voice say this... "Now how, ahh-sey, how'd ahh get in heeaahhh?"
